Calculate a test grade
When you know how many questions were correct, this calculator turns the score into a percentage and a simple letter grade. Enter correct answers and total questions to see the grade, missed count and score ratio. It is useful for quizzes, classroom checks, practice tests and quick grading estimates.
Fast percentage from correct answers
The letter grade uses a common 90, 80, 70, 60 scale, so adjust expectations if your class uses a different grading policy.
How the test grade is calculated
The tool reports a percentage, missed-question count, score ratio, and a simple letter-grade band.
Method
Divide correct answers by total questions and multiply by 100. Missed questions are total minus correct.
grade percentage = correct / total x 100
Worked example
With 42 correct answers out of 50, the percentage is 84%, the score ratio is 0.840, and 8 questions were missed.
Letter-grade assumption
The built-in bands are A at 90% or above, B at 80%, C at 70%, D at 60%, and F below 60%. Your school or course may use different cutoffs, weighting, rounding, or partial credit.
