Confirm that the fluid can be treated as static
The relationship assumes uniform density, constant gravity and no vertical acceleration. Gas compression, strong density gradients, waves and moving flow can invalidate that simple depth rule. Pressure on a real wall also varies with depth and must be integrated over its area. Use rated instruments and applicable design methods for vessels, diving or structural safety.
