Keep complete and partial responses separate

Enter eligible invitations delivered, complete responses, partial responses and a target completion percentage. The calculator reports complete responses divided by delivered eligible invitations, complete-plus-partial participation and the additional completes needed to reach the entered target. Counts are constrained so responses cannot exceed invitations.

Do not label the simple ratio as a formal outcome rate

Standard survey response rates can require detailed final disposition codes, treatment of unknown eligibility and a declared formula. A higher simple completion percentage alone also does not prove the absence of coverage, measurement or nonresponse error. Use this page for a transparent operational summary and follow the required methodology for research reporting.
