Estimate length from a fixed musical structure
Enter tempo, number of bars, beats in each bar and any extra pickup or ending beats. The calculator multiplies bars by beats, adds the extra count and converts total beats to seconds at the chosen BPM. It is useful for planning a section, cue, loop, arrangement draft or target duration before a recording exists.
Represent tempo and structure changes separately
The estimate assumes one constant tempo and equal beat lengths. Fermatas, rubato, spoken sections, pauses, tempo automation, transitions and incomplete bars can change the actual playback time. Calculate contrasting sections separately and add their durations when the arrangement changes.
