The calculator finds the energy added to the battery, adjusts it for charging losses and divides wall energy by charger power to produce an idealized duration. It works for a home charger or a public unit when the effective kilowatt rate is known.
Allow for real charging limits
A vehicle may accept less power than the charger can deliver, especially near a high state of charge or in difficult temperatures. Shared circuits, thermal management, battery conditioning and charger overhead can also change the result, so use the estimate for planning and check the actual vehicle and equipment limits.

Does the target percentage affect the result?
Yes. Only the difference between starting and target charge is added.
Why include charging efficiency?
Some wall energy is lost before it reaches the battery, so the wall estimate is higher than battery energy.
Will a fast charger hold its rated power?
Not necessarily. The vehicle and conditions can reduce power during a session.
