Know what the elapsed time includes
The average includes every second entered, so wall rest will slow the displayed pace. Turns, push-offs, pool length accuracy, stroke changes, current, sighting and open-water conditions can make segment pace differ. Use a coach-approved plan and appropriate supervision for ability, health and venue conditions.
